From subtle to dramatic, there’s so much you can do by just wearing a pair of contacts and today I’m going trying out these bright brown lenses inspired by your favourite felines….cats!

The Holi Cat series is created by well known brand GEO and includes 5 variations of colours each with it’s own kitty inspiration. The bright-eyed illustrations on the front package reflect the playful look these lenses are supposed to create. All the variations in this series are monthly disposables meaning that when taken care of properly they can be worn for up to one month.

COLOUR & DESIGN
As you can see from my before and after photos (below) these lenses add quite a bit of drama to my eyes and some obviously size enhancements. The Cutie Cat variation is a medium brown with a clear outer black ring to bring contrast with a distinct but rather naturalistic colour pattern. My natural eye colour is a rather solid brown and these contacts not only blend in excellently with my own colour but adds that extra intensity and definition.
ENLARGEMENT & COMFORT
The majority of lenses I’ve worn in the past have usually been 14mm (the average diameter of the human eye) and were meant mostly to change colour or add pattern to the iris. These lenses at 14.5mm are noticeably larger and for my personal taste, a bit too large for my eye shape. However this greatly depends on the size of your own eyes and I’ve seen girls wear 15mm lenses with little problem so it’s rather a matter of trial and error until you find a size that’s look right to you.
The feel of these lenses were soft and had a good comfort level for 3-4 hours before I really started to feel them in my eyes. Even though it may not seem like much, the extra jump from 14mm to 14.5mm was probably something that I wasn’t used to and I definitely started to feel tired after the 5hr mark. Also while these seem to be the same thickness as most monthly/yearly lenses, they are certainly thicker compared to daily disposables (like the Fairy One Day Lens).
Despite being a little too large to wear out day to day, these make beautiful extras for photographs especially if you like wearing false lashes which can sometimes look heavy on the eyes alone. Here I wore lighter brows, a liquid liner cat eye flick, spring worthy purple eyeshadow and false lashes. I especially like how they turned out in black and white photography, the darker labial ring and pattern really enhances my eyes.
OVERALL
A naturalistic design pattern, these lenses gives eyes a mischievous and bright look that can be dressed up or dressed down and is overall quite versatile. Novices starting out with lenses might find these slightly large but I think they are still wearable, especially for creative photos where you want that extra intensity. Contact lens pros will find this pair to be a great everyday staple that fits in easily with their daily repertoire.

TIPS: I did notice on occasion that these lenses slipped around slightly when I moved my eyes or blinked. This tends to happen with me when wearing larger lenses but causes no discomfort or distortion of vision.

STAY IN TOUCH
NOTE: Contact lenses and circle lenses are something you should likely consult with your optometrist if you have never worn them before. Because they are going into your eye, the utmost hygiene must be kept to prevent damage or injury to your eye. While some people wear contacts regularly for vision correction, I would not recommend wearing lenses regularly if not needed, your eyes do need a breather!

Review: FAIRY 1 Day Contact Lens | PINK

I change my false lashes on a daily basis. Full? Criss cross? Whispy?
Switching up my eye colour is equally as easy with a pair of coloured contacts. While my standard choice has always been brown, today I’m going pink with these Japanese style lenses as seen in some of my favourite Asian fashion magazines.

Daily disposables are a great option if, like me, you only wear lenses on occasion and do not want to worry about the upkeep and storage. These Princess series lenses come in a slim packaging of 10 pieces per box, one row for the left eye and the other for the right. Individually sealed, they can be broken apart to take for travel.

COLOUR & DESIGN
Trying to break out of my usual brown phase, I opted for pink (no prescription) as it didn’t look to bright and the large clear center would still allow my natural eye colour to show through. The pattern is mostly focused around the outer circumference, sharpening the iris and adding more contrast plus definition. The shading, when worn helps to create a glossy, multidimensional look. With my brown eyes, the pink was not over whelming and added a sweet look, the colour being only visibly obvious in certain lighting.

ENLARGEMENT & COMFORT
As the size of the average iris is 14mm, at 14.2mm these fall into the smaller diameter category in terms of sizing and still looked very natural compared to the size of my eyes. Actual enlargement is minimal but enhancement is certainly evident once you put them on.

Compared to the yearly circle lenses I’ve owned previously these are more flexible and softer. While they felt extremely comfortable the first few hours, I did find my eyes drying out by the 4th or 5th hour so moisturizing eye drops are recommended if you’ll be wearing them all day.

OVERALL
A very easy to wear series of lenses that produces a more natural but enhanced effect, especially when paired with soft makeup. The pink will give medium to dark eyes a softer, more romantic tint but will remain mostly inperceivable unless you are in bright light. Marketed for everyday wear for a more grown up look than most other circle lenses I think these do just as they say, easy to wear and will fit in well with your everyday wardrobe!

TIPS: I did find these daily disposables to be much softer than other lenses I’ve owned, it was a little more challenging to put them in as the lens kept flipping out or loosing its curved shape as I tried to put them in. As I don’t wear contacts often, this may not be problem for you experts.

Geo Angel Brown Lens (for non-contact wearers)

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to share my experience after “wearing” circle lenses for the first FIRRRST TIME EVERRRR.
I say “wear” apprehensively because the previous times, I couldn’t tolerate them for more than 10-15minutes.

*Sorry for the white bit, the eyelash glue hasn’t dried yet*
Yup. I am a lens virgin.

I have prescription glasses but I don’t need to wear it all the time, only for super serious geek mode.

So while I’ve read many reviews for lenses online/bloggers/youtubers, most people say that they are quite comfortable etc. However, most of them are contact lens wearers so I thought this would be helpful for those who have NEVER WORN contacts.

Putting them in:
I think I have some innate natural fear of getting things into my eye. I am fiercely afraid of eye-drops. So it wasn’t any surprise that I kept on blinking when trying to put on my lens, however this time it only took about 3-5minutes….much faster than the previous times. I believe this part is mostly just about practice and how comfortable/relaxed you are, if you’ve never worn contacts before, it can be really un-nerving to stick something onto your eyeball!

Geo AngelBrown

Here is what the lenses look like in their bottles. As you can see the dark outter ring is pretty obvious with a large “clear” hole in the middle. It is one of the most popular brown lenses out there. The purpose of CIRCLE LENSES are mainly:

  1. Change the colour of your eye.
  2. Enlarge the size of your eye. It does this because the diameter of the coloured part is larger than the size of the average eyeball. The diameter of circle lenses run anywhere from 14-14.5mm. Thus, when you wear them, your eyes are literally enlarged.
  3. Most of them can be bought with prescription and worn just like your regular contacts.

Lets seem them in action!
Geo Angel Brown CircleLens compare

Colour:
Having previously tried the Geo Nudy Brown lenses, which were supposedly less contrasting and more natural, I actually found the Angel series to be much more fitted to my own eye-colour. Note my eyes are a lighter brown with a red or hazel tinge (depending on the lighting). The outter edges of the lens colour matched quite well with the lighter colour of my eyes.
Undetectable? No.
Reasonable natural? Yes.

Comfort:
I took these lenses for a 5hr testing, while my eyes did get sore by the 3-4th hour, it wasn’t unbearable. Unfortunately, I could FEEL THEM for the entire time therefore this is not a look that I can pull off day-to-day.

I’ll still keep these guys around since they have a ONE YEAR usage date, but it is definitely not something I would wear often. I’d really rather stick on double eyelid tape and false eyelashes and layer on the eyeliner before having to wear these guys out again.
But I do gotta say. It changes your whole face shape.
The super large eyes makes you face smaller and more delicate.
BUT…not worth it for me 😦
Hope that was informative, especially for those interested and have never worn contacts before.
Night night Everybody ^-^”
