Fall Sewing Pattern Haul

As I’m writing this post right now, I am also recovering from an afternoon of sewing. Why recovering you ask? My goal for sewing this year was to practice more on technique rather than getting too caught up in the beautiful fancy things. This means, working on patterns which at first may seem too easy or boring but learning to add the finer details in craftsmanship from bias bound hems to clean crisp top stitching. Looking for something to practice my skills and being looped into a few recent online sales resulted in this large sewing pattern haul.

I’m quite excited that most of these styles can be redone in thicker winter friendly fabrics despite the spring appeal on the pattern drawings. In fact, I’ve been really enjoying the creative hunt of mixing up my fabric and pattern pairings for something that looks unexpected. My latest fabric store runs have been spent scavenging for affordable wool blend knits and soft drapey wovens to be turned into swirly skirts and cozy wraps. At the same time, my priority is still sewing for my fall wardrobe and I will have the first item checked off in the next few days – Instagramers, you’ve already gotten a sneak peak! Now the question is…which one of these pretty things to sew up next?
