If you’ve been a long time follower of my blog, you may even remember that this is one of the very first natural beauty brands I tried out so there’s definitely a sense of nostalgia here as I test out some of their newer products. After a few months of trial and comparison, here are the gems that are staying in my routine.

Organic Aloe & Jojoba Creme Therapy* | 8oz. @ $24.99 (Sale: $18)
This is currently my most frequently used body moisturizer and for good reason. Not only are the ingredients wonderfully natural but this Creme Therapy smells and feels just like a delicious custard. Smooth and creamy to apply this moisturizer has helped to soothe my chapped and irritated skin this winter while leaving a light sweet fragrance that’s not too overwhelming yet layers well with my perfumes. I love that it doesn’t leave any greasy residue on my skin but instead just slightly moist and supple feeling. It’s not quite enough for winter elbows and feet but as a daily all over cream, it’s perfect! The one weakness is the slightly ridiculous packaging, with all the shaking and squeezing that has to be done, trade it in for a tube or pump bottle and it’s an all around winner.

Ingredients: Cucumber, Organic Aloe Vera Juice, Organic Sunflower, Kosher Vegetable Glycerin, Organic Coconut, Cocoa Butter, Cetyl Alcohol, Potassium Stearate, Organic Beeswax, Organic Jojoba, Vitamin C, MSM, Citrus Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Organic Rosemary, Organic Avocado, Tamanu Oil, Flax Seed Oil. Primerose Oil, Organic Oregon Grape, Organic Rosehip Oil, Vitamin B5, Organic Lavender, Organic Calendula, Organic Chamomile, Grapeseed Oil, Macadamia Nut, Sodium Carbomer, Phenoxythanol, Ethyl Hexyl Glycerin.

Vitamin C Moisturizer* | 2 oz @ $54.99 USD
Currently one of their top selling new products, this Vitamin C Moisturizer claims to contain the highest concentration of this key ingredient to give you bright and even skin with regular use. My main concern with these types of products in general is stability of the vitamin c in such a jar packaging though it’s something that I can not measure for certain. In terms of effectiveness though, it does work to gently even out skintone for a more uniform complexion and I saw visible results within 3-4 weeks of nightly application. However it’s not a miracle worker on specific dark spots so pair this with a serum or spot treatment if that’s your main concern.

With the complex mix of ingredients and no perfume to mask it, this moisturizer definitely has a distinctively nutty/herbal scent. As it seems with many natural products, the consistency is thick and harder to blend than other creams with more emulsifying and smoothing agents. Best for those with normal, slightly oily or slightly dry skin I didn’t find this to be hydrating enough on it’s own for these dry Canadian winters but a drop of facial oil mixed in solved that easily.

Ingredients: Organic Plant Herbs, Organic Aloe Vera, Organic Sunflower, Glyceryl Stearate, Kosher Vegetable Glycerin, Octyl Palmitate, Organic Coconut, Cocoa Butter, Cetyl Alcohol, Potassium Stearate, Organic Beeswax, Organic Jojoba, Vitamin C, Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), Wheat Germ Oil, Wildcrafted Willow Bark,Organic Rosemary, Tamanu, Organic Borage Oil, Organic Flax Seed Oil, Organic Evening Primrose Oil, Organic Grape, Organic Rosehip Oil, Vitamin B5, Allantoin, Organic Arnica Montana, Organic Lavender, Organic Calendula, Organic Chamomile, Grapeseed Oil, Macadamia Nut Oil, Sodium Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, Ethyl Hexyl Glycerin.
Rooibos Tea Face Scrub* | 2 oz @ $24.99 USD (Sale: $17)

The Rooisbos Tea Scrub didn’t quite turn out as a favourite but I still think it’s worthy of an honourable mention because it gets the job done and is a great natural alternative to other chemical based exfoliants. While the antioxidant properties of the rooibos tea won’t be left on the skin long enough to have any active effect, there’s enough jojoba beads in this mix to smooth out your skin in a snap even for those who prefer a grittier scrub. I only wished they would blend this into a thicker base because the thin consistency meant it started to drip all over the place on damp skin.
Ingredients: Organic Aloe Vera Juice, Organic Rooibos Tea Extract, Organic Olive Oil, Organic Coconut Oil, Jojoba Wax Beads, Emulsifying Wax, Kosher Vegetable Glycerin, Palm Stearic, Organic Jojoba Oil, Avocado Oil, Witch Hazel, Xanthan Gum, Willowbark, Vitamin E.
Organic Lip Balm* | 0.15oz @ $4.99USD
A fun little treat to throw into your bag, these organic lip balms are made of healthy oils and organic beeswax which make them a nice daily alternative to synthetic balms if you’re thinking of making a switch. They do feel a little waxy upon first contact with my lips but quickly warm up and are comfortable to wear while sealing in moisture without being overly glossy. They’re not an intensive treatment but work well to offer day to day protection with fun flavours like citrus, chocolate, vanilla and blueberry.

Ingredients: Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Beeswax, Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Essential Oils of Lemon, Orange and Lime, Vitamin E, Rosemary, Organic Calendula.
Altogether, I’m very happy to see Made From Earth expand their range of natural skincare to include more complex formulations and treatment products. They are very gentle on the skin and the neutral scents of their products means they can be happily shared by the whole family without complaints. The over all price point is a tad high in contrast other similar brands and I do wish they would offer more sophisticated textures and better packaging. There’s still room for growth but looks like they’re off to a solid start.
