Until about six months ago, fragrance was something of a foreign territory to me…thinking that what is “seen” is often more exciting, I often neglected to consider this other side of beauty. So here I go into a new adventure and after getting all giddy watching other people’s perfume videos, I thought I would share my own growing collection.
First, a little background… Getting headfirst into perfumes, it doesn’t take long for one to realize that it’s a very expensive beauty habit. However, there are options to cut down on the cost while still indulging your senses (quite literally! Hahaha!) The majority of what you are about to see are either gifts from loving family and friends or they were purchased at a steep discount, with the exception of one which I paid full price, I’d say that my collection wasn’t much more expensive than purchasing a couple of eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks. Don’t forget to read till the end where I will share some of my tips and tricks for those on a budget!

Coffrete/sampler sets are great ways to try out multiple fragrances that you are unsure about without having to drop the big bucks all at once. The mini bottles not only look adorable on your vanity but they allow you to have ample product to test our if it’s right for you. As well, don’t neglect the discount shelf at your local drugstore (or sometimes even department store) where discontinued or overstocked fragrances can often be found at -75% discount! For example, my latest addition, “Red Delicious” by DKNY (100ml) was found at $19.99 CAD. The majority of my perfumes were discovered this way!
With all that being said, if you really find that one true love like I did with Samsara then perfume is certainly something worth saving your money for that one special bottle. While fragrances are not quite visually exciting (unless you find that one gorgeous bottle like my Lolita Lempicka), I have grown to love the powerful beauty that there is in something so seemingly subtle.
